I’m Living Your Dream Life

I’m Living Your Dream Life: The Story of a Northwoods Resort Owner is an autobiographical account of a woman and her husband who traded in the city life in the San Francisco Bay Area for what many consider to be a dream life in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. Leaving behind their professional lives, these two professional Frisbee players moved to a secluded 45 acre property, bought an existing resort and then built both a disc golf course (Frisbee golf) and a successful vacation rental resort business. If you’ve ever thought about it or are seriously considering trading in a stressful career for a more romantic lifestyle, this serves as an entertaining how-to book on the subject. While not providing a step-by-step plan, the story unfolds by answering the most frequently asked question to the author during her ten-year term as an innkeeper. And that is: How did you do it?

What the Reviewers are saying about I’m Living Your Dream Life:

“The book mixes stories about real people with tales of caterpillars, bats, mosquitoes, chores, boating, contractors, lawsuits, zoning restrictions, staffing woes, guests from Hell and lots more, but does it in a conversational and humorous style as if the author were sitting in your living room telling you the tale over coffee and doughnuts.” —Amanda Richards, top 50 reviewer, Amazon.com “This book deals with the major theme of most modern women’s lives–how to balance a career with children–without being preachy or bitchy about the tight-wire most of us walk while combining a career with motherhood.” —Robin Meloy Goldsby, author of Piano Girl, A Memoir “. . . It’s a heartfelt read, written from the soul that tells of how Michele and her husband Mike chucked it all and gave up successful, stressful California careers and moved to the wooly Wisconsin wilds and bought a bed and breakfast and expanded it. . . . Anybody who writes so beautifully about how her little girls buzz around her as she treks out to get the mail, has got to have put together an establishment every bit as good as the words she’s put on paper.” —Jack Priest, author of Ragged Man and Night Witch “I’m Living Your Dream Life is a combination personal memoir and practical “how-to” guide for anyone seriously considering exodus from the urban jungle. This book is a must, a required read for anyone entertaining the idea of owning a Bed & Breakfast. It is a book that should be in gift shops throughout the world. Bravo Michele, Dream Life is a welcomed breath of fresh air.” —Laurie Birnsteel, author of Sunspot and Kahala, Growing Up In Hawaii “Michele Cozzens tells the truth about her life and the decisions she has made. Her writing gushes in emotional spurts that left me reflecting on my own career choices, my personal attempts at having it all, my guilt over not always getting it right. Because of Cozzen’s memoir, I understand a little more about myself. Highly recommended, even if you’re not in the toilet-scrubbing sheet-changing business. ” —R. M. Goldsby, author of Rhythm
